Please note that talks and meetings have been postponed indefinitely because of the Covid-19 crisis.
Our next meeting is detailed here
Our next talk can found here.
We are looking for gifts or loans of documents, pictures or small artefacts from Ripley’s history. We’ll store them carefully and try to make them available to others. Contact us here if you think you have something for the collection.
We recently decided that from now on, membership will be free for those who receive the newsletter by email. Send us your details (name, address and email) via our contacts page and we’ll add you to our distribution list.
(If you want the newsletter sent to you by post, we ask for a contribution of £3 per year towards postage costs.)
If you’re interested in the history of the Butterley Company, have a look here.
Details of efforts to preserve some of the site through the Butterley Ironworks Trust can be found here.

Don’t forget to have a look at the talks programme of our sister society, the Pentrich Historical Society.
